This is my first trailer with brakes, and my understanding is the reverse light pin on the wiring harness stops the brakes from compressing when in reverse, but when pulling the wiring for launching, the coupler latch pin is to be moved to the lock position to stop it from compressing.Dropping an inch in pitch should be 3-4mph tops. From what i have seen the Z7 can use a 23 or 24 with a 150 but it really depends on how you load the boat.
